This mural is stunning! Out in the courtyard next to Japan Village at Industry City, Japanese Garden was created by one of the most important contemporary female street artists, Lady Aiko.
She created 120 large sheets of hand-cut stencils before spray painting onto the wall. Her style seems to draw inspiration from 18th-century Japanese woodblock printing and has a low-key feminist vibe to it. The mural is consisted of two Maiko (Geisha-in-training), one on each side, celebrating the future of Industry City. The Koi fish symbolizes life force and strength while the lotus flower represents divine beauty.
