Prismatica is an art installation that features a collection of interactive prisms, each standing 76″ tall and covered in a dichroic film. The film reflects all the colors of the rainbow, depending on the light and viewing angle. I checked it out the other day and was kind of underwhelmed. I don’t know if it’s because it was a gray day or that the Financial District ALWAYS depresses me. (It’s probably my terrible photography skills.) I mean, I know the installation will look best at night, when the internal projectors light up the “interactive kaleidoscope,” but I was so unimpressed that I’m not motivated to trek to FiDi again at night.
