Taiyaki is both the name of the dessert and the name of the shop selling these delicious and fun fish-shaped ice cream cones. They’re essentially made up of waffles that are chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside with artisanal soft serve ice cream on top. Before Taiyaki NYC opened, I thought it would be one of those dessert fads that sweeps the city every few months, but it tastes delightful and has shown that it has staying power with second locations in Brooklyn and Miami.
