Rose Main Reading Room

Rose Main Reading Room

The Rose Main Reading Room at the New York Public Library’s Fifth Avenue location is one of my favorite places in all of NYC. The biggest room inside the beautiful and iconic Beaux-Arts building, the Rose Main Reading Room is lit by giant windows and ornate chandeliers, with thousands of books on open shelves along its walls. The room is furnished with beautiful wooden tables and vintage brass lamps. There are plenty of outlets for you to charge your devices with and, obviously, super fast WiFi. Many New Yorkers who were out of work during the Great Depression came here to use the library’s resources to try to improve their fortunes, which is still the case today.I love coming here to read or work on my laptop. It’s quiet and peaceful and, frankly, luxurious.
