Puck Building

Puck Building

The Puck Building is a historical building built in the Romanesque Revival style designed by Albert Wagner. It was constructed in two sections, front and back, and the front actually had to be relocated in 1899 when Lafayette Street (called Elm Place back then) was widened. The building features two gilded statues of Shakespeare’s character Puck by sculptor Henry Baerer and has appeared in various movies and television shows. I know the building has impressive roots, but I am actually more drawn to the storm shutters that adorn the back of the building on Jersey Street.
