Bill Curreri was raised in Greenwich Village during the socially turbulent 1960’s and always dreamed of someday being recognized as an accomplished Rock Americana singer-songwriter. Unfortunately, obligations forced him to walk away from a major record label and he ended up pursuing successful careers in advertising and academia.
After retiring, Bill decided to return to his first love of music and has since released two albums. I’ve had the good fortune of working with him on his website and other digital marketing initiatives. And last night, I was in the audience as he played a one-hour set with his 7-piece band in the East Village.
To me, this is what being a New Yorker is all about. You don’t stop dreaming and doing, even after putting your dreams on hold for a good part of your life.
